Position: Varsity Head Coach Coach Thomas was born and raised in Auburndale. In high school, he played for Coach Grantham and competed on both the offensive and defensive line, earning First-Team All-County honors as a senior. He also excelled in wrestling, finishing third in the state at heavyweight, and competed in track and field. After graduation, Coach Thomas continued his football career at Benedict College, where he played defensive line and fullback. He began his coaching career at Bartow before returning to Auburndale, where he has served under multiple staffs and helped shape the foundation of the program. Coach Thomas brings leadership, discipline, and a deep connection to the Auburndale community. His commitment is centered on developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
Coach DeVone Williams serves as the Defensive Coordinator at Auburndale High School, bringing over a decade of coaching experience since 2013. Known for his emphasis on discipline, accountability, and player development, Coach Williams has built a reputation for developing fundamentally sound and highly competitive defenses. Prior to Auburndale, Coach Williams made a major impact at Mulberry High School, where he coached linebackers and served as Defensive Coordinator. During his tenure, his defense led the program to two district championships while allowing just 6 points per game. He also gained valuable experience as an Offensive Line Coach at Tenoroc High School, giving him a complete understanding of the game on both sides of the ball. Coach Williams specializes in developing linebackers, focusing on technique, football IQ, and physicality. His approach emphasizes discipline and accountability to build winning teams both on and off the field. A former player, Coach Williams was an All-State center at Kathleen High School before continuing his career at Huntingdon College as a defensive lineman. His experience on both sides of the trenches shapes his coaching philosophy. Currently, Coach Williams is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies at Grand Canyon University, continuing his commitment to mentoring and educating student-athletes.
Coach Gee Parrish began his coaching career at Auburndale High School in 2016, where he has served as a Defensive Backs and Wide Receivers coach, as well as the JV Offensive Coordinator. He brings a player-first mindset, competitive experience, and a deep understanding of the program’s tradition. A former multi-sport student-athlete at Auburndale High School, Coach Parrish was a three-year varsity football starter and a member of the District 11-4A Sub-Regional Championship teams in 1998 and 1999. He also competed in basketball for three years, baseball for two years—including the 1998 District 11-4A Championship team—and track & field. Coach Parrish continued his football career at Ohio Northern University, where he played defensive back and carried forward the leadership and discipline developed through years of high-level competition.
@lloyd_hughart A dedicated coach and 6 year U.S. Army veteran, Coach Lloyd brings discipline, intensity, and a passion for developing athletes to the Auburndale Bloodhounds program. With 4 years of coaching experience in both football and wrestling, he emphasizes fundamentals, leadership, and an Earned, Never Given mentality while building confident, high-IQ quarterbacks who can make plays under pressure and lead their teammates. His coaching philosophy centers on accountability, relentless work ethic, and turning potential into production. Whether working with JV or varsity quarterbacks, Coach Lloyd focuses on precision footwork, quick decision-making, pocket presence, and the mental toughness required to excel at the high school level and beyond. His coaching philosophy centers around effort, technique, communication, and playing with relentless intensity every snap.

Coach Charlie M. Shaw joined the Auburndale High School football staff as an Assistant Coach, specializing in Strength & Conditioning and Leadership Development. He brings more than 30 years of distinguished experience in professional leadership, training, and service to the program, enhancing both athletic performance and character development for student-athletes. Coach Shaw is a United States Navy veteran, serving more than 10 years as a Security Specialist. His military career sharpened his skills in security operations, team leadership, discipline, and personnel development. After his military service, Coach Shaw worked as a patrol deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and spent more than two decades with the United States Marshals Service. He retired in 2023 as a Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal, leading teams in fugitive operations, intelligence, security assignments, and leadership development in the Middle District of Florida. Outside of coaching, Coach Shaw is a published author and founder of the SIS Leadership Institute—a student leadership and life-readiness program focused on discipline, accountability, decision-making, and overcoming internal obstacles. Coach Shaw holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Saint Leo University and a master’s degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix. At Auburndale, Coach Shaw is dedicated to helping students develop leadership skills, mental resilience, discipline, and strong character, preparing them to succeed beyond high school.
Coach Hillard is in his first year coaching at Auburndale High School, where he serves as the defensive line coach and teaches math. A graduate of Wofford College, he played four years of Division I-AA football in Spartanburg, South Carolina at defensive line and tight end. During his career, he contributed to two Southern Conference championship teams and three FCS playoff appearances. Coach Hillard brings a strong foundation in leadership, discipline, and player development to the program while developing the next generation of defensive linemen.
Cameron Schultz is a member of the Saginaw Valley State University Class of 2025 and a native of Bay City, Michigan. He graduated from George Jenkins High School in 2018, where he competed as a cornerback and running back. From January 2022 to January 2024, Cameron served as the Vice President of Football Operations at Saginaw Valley State University under Head Coach Ryan Brady. In that role, he supported daily and long-term football operations including recruiting coordination, equipment management, film breakdown, and administrative logistics. Cameron has experience working closely with coaching and support staffs in recruiting organization, prospect management, and operational execution, bringing a detail-oriented and professional approach to the program.
